Theme: God as the only true and living God.
The Bible clearly distinguishes between the living God and the false gods of the nations. “But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God and the everlasting King” (Jeremiah 10:10). Unlike idols made of stone or wood, the true God speaks, acts, and saves.
Knowing that He is the true God gives us confidence in a world full of competing voices and philosophies. He alone created us, sustains us, and calls us to worship Him in spirit and truth.
Theme: God desires personal relationship.
It’s one thing to acknowledge that there is a God—it’s another to know Him as your God. Throughout Scripture, God reveals His covenant heart: “I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (Jeremiah 31:33).
Through Jesus Christ, this covenant became personal. By faith, we can call Him Abba, Father (Romans 8:15). The true God is not distant or abstract; He is near, intimate, and relational. He longs to be not just “the God of the universe” but “your true God.”
Theme: Faithfulness in a culture of idols.
Even today, idols surround us—money, power, status, pleasure. They promise much but cannot save. Joshua challenged Israel: “Choose this day whom you will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:15).
Serving your true God means:
Choosing your true God over false gods isn’t just a one-time decision—it’s a daily posture of faithfulness.
Theme: Practical discipleship and assurance.
Knowing your true God changes how you live:
Jesus said, “This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent” (John 17:3). Eternal life is not just about heaven someday—it’s about knowing your true God here and now.
When you walk with Him daily, you find peace, strength, and hope that nothing in this world can shake.
